Guillermo del Toro will appear in The Hobbit!

"I'll have a line or two and die quickly…"

Looks like part of Guillermo del Toro's extensive preparation for The Hobbit has stretched to finding a small, monstrous cameo in the film.

Speaking on a German TV show, GDT has talked about how he's planning to crop up as a creature, though "“not an important one, just a background guy.”

And after the boards of the One Ring site dug up the interview, the ever-approachable auteur showed up to drop an extra snippet: "I had a hand on the design of the creature and I will personally sculpt the appliances that will be applied on my face and hands.

"I used to sculpt the creatures for Necropia (my FX company) and I miss it a bit. I will have a line or two and die quickly."

Let the debate begin as to which creature he'll play. A troll? An Orc? A goblin?

Who do you think he'll crop up as? Speak!

I'm guessing a dwarf, maybe Gloin, Gimli's dad.

His cameo will be similar to PJ's 3 cameos in the LOTR trilogy.

he claims that he'll drop one or two lines and die quick... then it's probably not a dwarf... I'd guess it'll be a goblin under the mountain or maybe an orc in the ending battle =)
