A new Aussie crime drama

Guy Pearce, Kinky Boots’ Joel Edgerton and Ben Mendelson (The New World) have signed on for the Australian crime drama Animal Kingdom.

Director David Michod is making his film debut with the pic, which finds a 17-year-old trying to survive being a member of a crime family with the help of Pearce’s copper, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

Jackie Weaver (still best known for Picnic At Hanging Rock) is also starring, while Liz Watts is producing.

The film will have to squeeze into Pearce’s busy schedule – he’s already got inheritance drama Thicker and war movie Last Man on his plate.
