Haggis makes Enemies

Crash creator closing in on controversial memoirs

After hoovering up a couple of statuettes at the Oscars last weekend, Paul Haggis has his pick of projects to direct and adapt.

An interesting choice would be the adaptation of Against All Enemies, the memoirs of trusted Washington insider Richard A Clarke.

The book tells the tale of how President George W Bush and his administration handled the threat from Osama Bin Laden before and after the World Trade Center attacks.

A faithful movie would include characterisations of Bush, Condoleezza Rice and Donald Rumsfeld.

Haggis is in final talks with Columbia about directing and supervising the script, which is currently being worked into a second draft by Basic scribbler James Vanderbilt.
