Hawke is the hottest

Actor to direct movie of his own novel

Ethan Hawke is set to adapt and direct his own grunge-soaked tale, The Hottest State, about a gang of aspiring writers, musicians and actors. The story, set in New York, explores the desperation of the group as they wrestle with the first strains of love and the enduring pain of creativity. Sounds a blast, doesn’t it?

The only word on casting so far has Michelle Williams firmly in the Hawkester’s crosshairs. Williams can soon be seen in Ang Lee’s cowboy drama Brokeback Mountain which is released in cinemas on 6 January.
