In news that shouldn’t come as much of a surprise, given the incredible excitement surrounding the latest series, HBO has officially ordered two more series of Game Of Thrones.
The news comes in the wake of record viewing figures for the latest season premiere, with 6.6 million US fans tuning in on Sunday, 2.2 million more than watched the Season 3 premiere.
Factoring in the repeat later that evening, the show was seen by 8.2 million in the US alone, making it HBO’s most-watched broadcast since the finale of The Sopranos.
Showrunners D.B. Weiss and David Benioff recently signed on for two more years of the show, with rumours suggesting that there will either be seven or eight in total.
In the meantime, fans can rest easy that their favourite characters will be around for a while yet… or the programme will be, at least. All men must die, after all.
