Helen Mirren joins Red

She's signed on for the Bruce Willis film…

Helen Mirren has joined the cast of Red, the DC Comics adaptation that already features the likes of Bruce Willis and Morgan Freeman.

Flightplan's Robert Schwentke is directing the story of a retired CIA agent who must rouse himself when a high-tech killer threatens his life.

There's no word on who exactly Mirren will be playing - though we'd love to see her as the assassin (doubt it).

Schwentke will gather his cast in January to start shooting with Summit Entertainment planning to release the result next November.
