Having done his level best to steal the show in The Avengers, the Hulk may well be rewarded with his own standalone movie, although probably not until after The Avengers 2 has been released.
Kevin Feige has been talking to MTV about the future of the character, and he seems confident that the big green monster may yet get another standalone outing.
“Do I think Hulk can carry a movie and be as entertaining as he was in Avengers?” questioned Feige. “I do believe that. I do believe he absolutely could. We certainly are not even going to attempt that until Avengers 2, so there’s a lot of time to think about it.”
“I don’t think there’s a lot that we couldn’t do someday,” continues Feige, “as the cinematic universe continues to grow and expand and get as big as the comic book universe. Planet Hulk is a cool story. World War Hulk is a cool story.”
“I think there’s pitfalls of continuity-overload, and mythology getting so dense that it almost collapses in on itself [with those cosmic projects]. It happens every few decades or so in the comics. Apart from that, I’d say everything is on the table.”
All of which sounds rather exciting, although obviously this is a long way down the track. In the meantime, there’s The Avengers 2 to look forward to, which opens in the UK on 1 May 2015.

I liked Ruffalo's interpretation with the character, he wasn't as tightly wound as Bana or Norton. He was more like *shrugs* "Eh, I'm the Hulk what can you do?".

Interpretation of Banner, I should say. No-one wants to see a non-chalant Hulk. Although there was a Professor Hulk storyline, where the big green guy wears a suit. Weird.

I was going to say..."Has he not already had two, both of which were either mediocre or kind of rubbish?"

Hulk must stay earthbound and none of that Red Hulk rubbish. It only diminishes what makes Banner so unique, not Hulk, in the Marvel Universe.

I thought there was supposed to be another live action TV show on the horizon?

If Incredible Hulk couldn't ignite the BO then I don't see any need for another solo outing, Hulk works better sharing the screen with Marvel characters. I'd much prefer seeing Hulk having a part in Iron Man 4 or Thor 2/3.

Meh, I like World War Hulk and Planet Hulk and all, but I don't think Marvel should be so quick to just grab current storylines. There are some fantastic classic storylines they could examine that are just as good, if not better than, the current stuff. Can you really say that the Chitauri were at all a better pick than the Skrull or Kree? No, they were bland and unmemorable in an otherwise awesome film. Heck, they could do a straight-up adaptation of the original Galactus story (if they had rights to FF) and it would probably be one of the greatest super hero films of all time.

Eh. I think he works best as a supporting player, to be honest.

Hulk was, for me, the best character in The Avengers and that was purely down to Ruffalo. Would definitely watch a standalone movie with him as Banner. Just don't bother with the Betty/General Ross guff and have him as a loner drawn into the crisis. Would be easier to get some SHIELD cameos in a Hulk movie as they monitor him and are worried about the devastation his reappearance may cause.

Planet Hulk as a stand-alone Hulk movie and Avengers 3 could be World War Hulk. I believe that would be pretty awesome.
