Idris Elba and Zoe Saldana join The Losers

Sylvain White is busy gathering his cast for the adaptation of the Vertigo Comic book The Losers.

Star Trek’s Zoe Saldana and RocknRolla’s Idris Elba are the latest names negotiating to join the pic, which finds a Special Forces team betrayed by its handler and left for dead.

Now hell-bent on revenge, the squad – to be led by Watchmen’s Jeffrey Dean Morgan – scratch their names from the CIA’s death list and strike back against their corrupt agency superiors.

Elba’s lined up to play Rogue, the Losers’ battle-scarred second-in-command, while Saldana will be Aisha, a tough loose cannon.

With script contributions from Peter Berg and Zodiac’s James Vanderbilt, White aims to start shooting this year.

  How can Elba play Rogue? In the comic books Rogue is a silent mexican/hispanic sniper who wears a cowboy hat. I think Elba must be playing Pouch. Liking the casting of Saldana though. Hope this is half a s good as the comics.
