Iron Man 2 in 3D?

Sounds like Marvel is considering options...

Could Tony Stark get another dimension? Maybe: Marvel Studios is considering having Iron Man 2 converted to 3D.

While the film is now in post-production, Ain't It Cool News received word that Marvel has already had a minute of the movie converted to 3D so its own execs and Paramount can see if it's worth trying for the rest of the movie.

The main problem right now is the cost involved - it's extremely expensive to convert a film that has been shot on film and without thought of 3D to the required format.

Still, Jon Favreau is on record as saying he's excited about the idea of 3D, so if the demo wows the purse string-holders, he may yet get his chance.

And, at the very least, it means we could expect Iron Man 3 and other Marvel movies to arrive in 3D…

Is this a good idea? Let the debate begin!
