Approach with caution: this morning’s rumour lockdown comes courtesy of none other than the next entry in the Batman franchise.
Ever since The Dark Knight took a record-breaking haul at the box office, everybody’s been asking when a third rebooted adventure will be hitting the Gotham streets.
Well, Deadline Hollywood’s insider Nikki Finke seems to think writer David S Goyer is about to put pen to paper. See, he’s just left TV series FlashForward, and Nikki says it’s all thanks to the bat.
Says she: “Of course, Goyer’s feature career is really heating up, since he co-wrote Batman Begins, and penned the story for The Dark Knight, and is now writing the third Batman installment with Chris Nolan’s brother Jonah [aka Jonathan].”
Now, Finke doesn’t give any concrete reason (i.e. proof) for thinking that Goyer is currently writing the third flick other than the fact that he left ABC’s sci-fi series.
But Finke has always been a reliable source. Has she heard whispers in the Warner Bros corridors that the script is warming up? Or has she just got her facts wrong? (It happens.)
If anything, we bet Chris Nolan will time an announcement about the new Batman flick to coincide with the release of Inception. That’s what we’d do, anyway...

Yeah your probably right. He will give the big announcement on Batman 3 when Inception is released. hope it doesnt over shadow Inception though as that looks amazing! [Link removed. Please don't spam your own site/blog].

Do we really need yet another Batman Movie tho?? I loved creation story of Batman Begins, but thought The Dark Knight was a big pile of overrated pap.. Heath Ledger slapping his chops together and Christian Bale talking like an evil Disney Wolf with a Lisp (even infront of Lucius Fox who knew the was Bruce Wayne????) for 2 and a half hours is not really my idea of entertainment.

there are a million stories in the batman franchise i'm sure they can draw from that. the russian mafia stuff was cool. i hated the 'evil disney wolf-even to lucius- also, but, given the fanbase, the are lucky to have the opportunity to delve as deep into comic lore as possible here, no introductions necessary

sp4cej0ckey - your opinion of The Dark Knight is all the evidence we need to completely ignore your comments on a sequel. If this story is true, then it is further proof that there are absolutely NO guarantees that The Riddler or Catwoman are in the next film. It's ridiculous how many websites there are out there trying to convince people that they know who is gonna be in the next film, and guaranteeing all these other things. Goyer hasn't even WRITTEN it yet, for gods sake. Stop making up sh*t just so people will read your webs**tes! (sorry all, pet peeve)

I really do think the voice is down to a modulator in the mask- I'm sure it is mentioned in Batman Begins and would explain why he speaks to Lucius that way (Terminator Salvation aside).
