They say you can’t keep a good man down.
But apparently the same applies to bad men, too – not to mention men-who-are-sometimes-unkillable-and-look-a-bit-like-zombie-wrestlers-with-machettes.
Iconic slasher Jason Voorhees has been resurrected numerous times for ten Friday The 13th sequels, one clash with Freddy, and last year’s $100m grossing Friday The 13th remake. But it looks like he’s finally been put out to pasture.
Despite reports last year by Platinum Dunes that the script for a sequel to the 2009 remake (imaginatively titled Friday The 13th: Part 2) was underway, producer Brad Fuller has given indication that the project’s dead in the water.
When a fan asked him via Twitter what was happening with the sequel, he replied “dead – not happening”.
Which sounds pretty final. Is Fuller just playing with us? Or is Jason the latest victim of the recession? I think we all know that Jason’s never truly dead – just sleeping. More when we get it.
