The Suspiria remake has bagged itself a leading lady in the form of Isabelle Fuhrman, who will play the teenage protagonist in David Gordon Green's new take on the film.
Based on the gore-soaked original by Italian horror maestro Dario Argento, Suspirira will follow Fuhrman's character as she travels to Europe to attend a world-renowned school. However, what she doesn't know is that the school is actually a front for an unhinged coven of witches…
Having recently appeared as Clove in The Hunger Games, you might better remember Fuhrman from Jaume Collet-Sera's unsettling horror film, Orphan, in which she played a creepy little girl with a terrifying secret.
She might have previous form with the genre, but the choice of Green to fill the director's chair still seems an odd one. Having begun his career with more serious fare, his last three films have been the increasingly disappointing comediesPineapple Express, Your Highnessand The Sitter.
He's handy with a dick joke, but whether or not he can conjure up genuine fear remains to be seen. Suspiria is expected to arrive in 2013, with a specific release date yet to be confirmed.
