The first trailer has arrived online for boxing comedy Grudge Match, in which Sly Stallone and Robert De Niro’s retired pugilists reheat a decades-old rivalry for one last fight.
The two stars play a pair of former boxers who scored one victory each over each other during their heyday, before Stallone’s sudden retirement killed the rivalry cold.
Now, having been brought back together by mo-cap filming for a new boxing video game, the two are right up in each other’s faces once more, and it isn’t long before a deciding bout is on the slate.

While this could easily have been a train wreck, this first trailer is surprisingly promising, with lots of gags hitting their mark, considerable chemistry between the two leads and some nice supporting work from Alan Arkin and Kevin Hart as their respective motivators.
Directed by Peter Segal and co-starring Kim Basinger and John Bernthal, Grudge Match will open in the UK on 24 January 2014.
