La Lopez signs up for Wall Street rom-com

After the career car-crash that was the union between Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck, both parties are in need of some serious cinematic CPR. While Ben bets on Mike Binder’s comedy/drama Man About Town (think Jerry Maguire as a Hollywood agent), Jen is falling back into the comfort zone of romantic comedy.
Lopez has scribbled to appear in Bridge And Tunnel, a term used in Manhattan for those inbound commuters from New Jersey. J-Lo will play Sydney Farris, a Wall Street broker who hires a hot-shot stock-picker called Billy Zumeti whom she meets online.
After the usual hi-jinks, Sydney decides it’s time to meet the charming number cruncher, only to find he’s a 17-year-old kid from Jersey.
Helming from his own script is Dawson’s Creek scriber Greg Berlanti and holding the purse strings is Robert De Niro through his company Tribeca Films.
Filming is slated to start this spring.
