Jackie Chan confirms involvement in Expendables 3

Also says he’s up for Rush Hour 4

Jackie Chan has confirmed that he will appear in The Expendables 3.

The action star announced his involvement at a press conference for CZ12 (AKA Chinese Zodiac).

“Sly had invited me to be in Expendables 2 but I was too busy filming CZ12 and couldn't make a commitment to the film. But he did extend his invitation to the third movie, which I agreed on the condition that I will be appearing as more than just a minor role with a few scenes.”

He also said that the next film he’s working on could possibly become Rush Hour 4. Going by the working title Skip Tracer, the film’s said to be another East-meets-West comedy, and Chris Tucker’s apparently looking at the script.

“The script is currently viewed by Chris Tucker. Personally, I feel that if he were to pick it up, it would be better if we turned it into Rush Hour 4 but I do think that three movies for the franchise is a perfect ending. It would be better to start a new buddy movie with someone new.”

The Expendables 3 doesn’t have a release date pencilled in, but with Stallone lining up ageing action stars like they’re going out of fashion (erm…) expect more news on this one soon.

I thought he said he was retiring from action films? Nonetheless, I'm happy. I mean, the Expendable movies are sh1t, but more Jackie is always welcome. He may as well do Rush Hour 4 too as it can't be any worse than the last one.

I thought he also said he didn't like the Rush Hour films as he didn't get the western comedy style

He'll probably appear on screen for five minutes then vanish like Jet Lee did in the sequel.

He'll be the 'hero'. The Expendables are essentially bad guys (mercenaries) and he'll likely go up against them for most of the film before realizing that they are ok and they will unite against a common threat. Anyway, he's the only person on earth who could take down the whole team on his own. none of them are fit to lick his boots... he deserves far more than some stupid cameo.

I hope that Sly also includes Sonny Chiba. It would be real cool to have him fight Chuck Norris. Having Steven Seagal play the bad guy would be great!

Is it wrong that I wand JCVD back in a different role, playing homage to (*read: taking the p**s out of) all his dual role movies.
