With Green Lantern now properly gearing up to shoot with Ryan Reynolds starring, the other roles are being pondered. And the producers apparently want Jackie Earle Haley for the main villain.
Ain't It Cool has heard that Haley is topping the wish list for the florid Lantern nemesis, a former mentor to hero Hal Jordan and wronged ex-law keeper himself who makes it his mission to destroy them.
It sounds like a great role for the man who was Rorschach and who has been spending time bringing Freddy Krueger's toasty visage back to the screen.
But right now, it's strictly in rumour terms, as Haley himself admits he hasn't been contacted about the part and hasn't had so much as a screen test.
Still, the 'net lobbied for him to get the Rorschach role, so maybe history will repeat itself?
In other Lantern news, Warners has yanked the film from its planned Australian shoot for financial reasons. Now it looks like Martin Campbell and the crew will film in Mexico or Canada…

"Still, the 'net lobbied for him to get the Rorschach role, so maybe history will repeat itself?" Actually, the petitions were for Doug Hutchison, of Green Mile fame. Which got him an audition, but JEH ultimately won out.
