After much speculation, James Cameron has officially ruled himself out of directing a big-budget 3D Cleopatra movie.
At the annual Fulfillment Fund's benefit gala, the Avatar director stated definitively "I am not doing Cleopatra. That has been decided."
It doesn't come as a huge surprise really, given that Cameron has recently confirmed that he's officially returning for two Avatar sequels, due out in December 2014 and December 2015.
Angelina Jolie's name has long been attached as the lead in the Cleopatra project, and it's not yet known if Cameron's non-involvement will lead the actress to jump ship.
