It seems when Jim Cameron isn’t making the worlds biggest films, he’s helping others who are trying to make their own.
It’s been confirmed that Cameron will be mentoring new Spider-man director Marc Webb, who's desperate to shoot in 3D using Avatar’s groundbreaking technology.
And who better to have helping than the man himself – the creator of the jaw-dropping new technology.
Cameron's involvement may be down to his concern of recent superhero films…
‘I think Hollywood's in a bit of a rut. They've done the good ones and they're starting to get down to the second and third tier of superheroes’, says Cameron.

JC famously wrote the 'scriptment' for a Spider-man film back in the '90s, paving the way for Sam Raimi's box office bursting vision to hit the screens in 2002. Now it seems he's ready to add his gravtias to the web-slinger once again.
It’s a good job the man only needs four hours sleep per night. Being caught up in Spidey's web and planning his Avatar sequel, he has a busy few years ahead.
Is Cameron the Spider-man? Or should he stick to Pandora? Tell us what you think...

I think he should steer it further into the s**t, revenge for not letting him have a crack at it first time round.

His script was godawful. Check the extracts on io9: http://io9.com/5427122/what-if-james-cameron-made-a-spider+man-movie This was always running the risk of being a really bad film, but Cameron has previous of not getting Spiderman, so this has just increased its chances of blowing.

Except for the fact that his script was cr*p. Have you read it? Would have been great if it was for the spiderman cartoon, but not movie quality (a bit like the Batman/Superman film that was floating around ten years ago - rubbish script, but would have made a great DC Cartoon)

Isn't returning to the same well over and over the very definition of being stuck in a rut?
