James Gandolfini finds Sexual Healing

Putting some bada bing into a Marvin Gaye biopic

BY Total Film Feb 1st 2008 0:00AMFILED UNDER: Movie news

Instead of cracking heads in The Sopranos, James Gandolfini is taking on the role of music promoter Freddy Cousaert, the man who guided singer Marvin Gaye through the recording of his biggest hit album, Midnight Love.

It’s all part of Sexual Healing, a biopic that will chart the troubled last years of Gaye as he splits from Motown Records, vanishes to Europe and struggles with his career.

Rent’s Jesse L Martin (a man with more than able musical pipes) is playing Marvin, with Lauren Goodman directing this April. Head over to Variety for the whole story.
