Jason Isaacs in the Greengrass zone

He’s joined the director’s new Iraq-set thriller

We’re always glad to see unsung yet quality thesps get roles, particularly when it’ll mean working with one of our best directors.

So it’s good news that Jason Isaacs has signed on to Paul Greengrass’ untitled Iraq-based thriller, which is set in the American controlled “Green Zone” after the fall of Saddam.

Isaacs is off to join Matt Damon, Greg Kinnear and Amy Ryan in Spain where Greengrass is spinning a yarn about American administrators blundering their way through trying to rebuild the shattered city of Baghdad.

Variety is keeping track of it all.
