Jason Statham’s Killer Elite gets a smashing trailer

He kicks! He punches! He leaps!

killer elite

The first trailer for Jason Statham’s latest action film Killer Elite has busted its way online.

If you’re a fan of dirty fighting and even dirtier visuals, it looks like Elite was made just for you.

Statham plays an ex-special ops agent who is lured out of retirement (aren't they all?) in order to rescue his mentor (Robert De Niro).

That rescue will involve killing three unkillable assassins, who are being led by Clive Owen’s tough-as-nails bad guy.

Promising minimal plotting but maximum thrills, Killer Elite looks like a fun actioner that knows not to take itself too seriously. Just look at Owen’s moustache for proof of that.

The film also gives De Niro an opportunity to throw a few punches, which is always something to be celebrated.

Check out the trailer below…

Killer Elite opens 23 September 2011.

I can't decide what the best thing about that trailer is, the awesome 'power slam while tied to a chair' special move, or the fleeting glimpse of De Niro throwing down! Statham films do exactly what they say on the tin and I want that tin!

That trailer had so much testosterone, I grew a five o'clock shadow just watching it.

Is this a remake of the James Caan/ Robert Duvall movie "The Killer Elite" as it has absolutely nothing to do with the original?

Steven Seagal is still deadly, he's been lending his methods to Machida and Anderson Silva.

I always feel a bit sorry for Seagal, people take the mickey out of him for his weird looking fighting style in films yet it's a real martial art that he's extremely proficient at...

Dalidab for the love of god stop listing movies, no one cares. I've never seen a Seagal film I actually liked but he's better than Lundgren. I'm well aware of the allegations about his private life (though pretty sure those haven't been proved), and I'd agree he's sleazy as hell but he's hardly lost his way, he didn't have his way in the first place. I like though that you 'truly despise' Seagal for mistreating women and possibly coercing them into sex, and you 'truly despise' Tom Cruise for being a scientologist and jumping up and down on a couch. Nice to see your priorities sorted out.

Um no, I didn't agree with you at all. For you to put being a scientologist and jumping on a couch at the same level as commitment sexual assault is bloody retarded. Even for you that was unusually stupid. Not sure why Jesse Ventura going into politics is 'selling out', but tbh I don't see any difference between Hasselhoff's behaviour towards women on BGT and your own sleazy behaviour towards young male 'actors' on this website. And as for saying Hugh Hefner is a vile disgusting sexist pig who demeans all women, you might want to look into the fact that he's widely respected and loved by a lot of women he meets, he's done a LOT for free speech in America, and perhaps something most relevant to you he was also a prominent gay rights pioneer. Seems that most of these people you 'truly despise' you know pretty much nothing about, so quit judging them from behind your computer screen.

Where the hell do you live that they only let you vote when you're 28?? I don't kiss anyone's asses, but I don't 'truly despise' people for f*****g pathetic reasons the way you seem to. 'How empowering it feels to truly despise someone, especially a celeb you can't stand'.... wtf, you really are a sad pathetic little man aren't you. Grow up mate.
