Given that drama Crazy Heart is being part produced by the Country Music Television channel across the pond, we’re shocked - shocked we tells ya! - to discover that it’ll follow an alcoholic country singer who turns his luck around thanks to the love of a beautiful reporter.
But it’s true – Jeff Bridges has signed on to play the cranky crooner who ends up falling for lovely newslady Maggie Gyllenhaal. Oh, and Robert Duvall is also starring in an unknown role, as well as producing the film. It’s all adapted from Thomas Cobb’s novel, with Scott Cooper writing and directing.
Variety is tuning up its guitar.
