Jennifer Garner has been busy acting on New York’s Broadway in Cyrano de Bergerac, which seems strangely appropriate training for her next film assignment.
After all, Cyrano’s story is about a seemingly ugly man providing the lines to help someone else woo her, and she’s just landed the lead opposite Ricky Gervais, who will be stretching the truth to punch above his romantic weight and win her heart.
It’s all part of his new comedy, This Side Of The Truth, which is set in a world where lying does not exist (no advertising or politics, we’re guessing). Gervais is an ordinary bloke who suddenly figures out how to tell porkie pies and uses his new ability to score both in work and in love.
He’s written the script with Matthew Robinson and the pair will also be co-directing the film early next year.
