Jesse Eisenberg has landed the lead role in Louis Leterrier’s magical heist thriller Now You See Me.
The Social Network star will play the leader of a group of magicians who literally reward their audiences’ loyalty by robbing banks during shows and sharing the money with their fans.
Meanwhile, a crack FBI squad is dedicated to stopping their anarchic performances.
So it’s basically The Illusionist meets Ocean’s Eleven. Sounds good to us, especially as it’s something of a change for Eisenberg, who has favoured less action-inclined roles since Zombieland.
Also apparently interested in the film is Jake Gyllenhaal. He’s been offered an as-yet-undisclosed role, but has yet to firm up a deal.
Next up for Eisenberg is Woody Allen’s Predisposed, while he may re-team with Noah Baumbach for domestic drama While We’re Young.
