Joe Cornish – better known as one half of the Adam & Joe comedy team – is making his directorial debut with teens vs alien pic Attack The Block.
Cornish – who has worked on the script for Steven Spielberg’s Tintin and Ant Man with Edgar Wright – is planning a comedy action thriller in which aliens attack South London and a gang of hoodies are charged with fighting back.
It sounds both insane and awesome and with Cornish writing and directing, we’re hoping for another Shaun Of The Dead-style film and career launch.
After all, Simon Pegg, Edgar Wright and Nick Frost can't do everything…
And talking of flying the Blighty flag, the Screen Daily story also mentions Chris “Day Today/Blue Jam” Morris, who has finally locked down funding and will start shooting satirical drama Four Lions.
The film follows four wayward teenagers who end up becoming fundamentalists. Bet it’ll be controversial…

Morris? Horror comedies are becoming a boring concept, too many British actors'/directors think its the path to success since SotD.

ashley.russell... cheer up! Typical British attitude. You can take your cynical, grumpy mood and watch a Final Destination movie. I for one will be looking forward to a Joe Cornish movie. One half of a criminally underated comedy duo. And anyway, sounds more sci-fi than horror to me... PS. The Chris Morris movie has got me excited already. Taking the p**s out of terrorism in this country! Can't wait.
