John Williams talks Star Wars: Episode VII

Confirms he has held discussions with J.J. Abrams

A Star Wars movie wouldn’t feel the same without the input of composer John Williams, and happily, it sounds as though the old-stager will be involved in scoring Episode VII.

J.J. Abrams recently revealed his desire to bring Williams back into the fold, and Williams has revealed that the two have already met to discuss the possibility.

“We’ve certainly talked about that, and I’m happy and willing to do it,” says Williams. “J.J. Abrams, who will be the director, seems excited about the idea. I have to say that J.J. is a much younger man than I, but I will try to keep up with him as much as I can.”

“We now have the benefit of all this computer simulation and technical work that wasn’t even possible 20 or 25 years ago,” continued Williams, when asked about the new film in general.

“I don’t know how hands-on George Lucas will be — I suspect he will be to some degree — but I can only imagine how excited he must be, to have a director like J.J. have all these tools at his fingertips to produce something even more adventurous technologically. I can’t wait to see what he will do with it.”

Neither can we. Star Wars: Episode VII is expected to arrive in UK cinemas in 2015.

A mistake - this could have really done with a new composer.

Williams is a legend, Star Wars wouldn't be the same without him, even manged to lift the laughable toy commerical that was episode 1, with the rousing 'Duel of the Fates. 'Remember how Superman Returns tried to imitate his motifs? It wasn't the same. Alan Silvestri could always take over if Williams' is taken ill over the course of the trilogy, or god forbid RIP. Silvestri's Back to the future theme was the closest anyone has to emulating Williams' classic style. I want some rice pudding.

@willymcburgle: A mistake? Really? This man is the most veteran soldier on the battlefield. How is selecting him for this job a mistake?

It’s said that Ubisoft Reflections, Driver: San Francisco developer is developing a new racing game named The Crew. And the game is realistic, probably being used to against Gran Turismo and Forza. The Crew will launch PlayStation 4, Xbox One and current generation consoles. from gameguyz
