Jonah Hill will appear in Quentin Tarantino's Django Unchained

He's back on board

After previously missing out on a role due to a scheduling conflict, a change in circumstances will now allow Jonah Hill to appear in Django Unchained.

According to Deadline's report, Hill won't play the same character he was originally earmarked, that being one Scotty Harmony, a young man who is gifted Django's slave wife Broomhilda.

It's not yet known who he'll play, but given the revolving-door nature of Django's cast (Kevin Costner, Kurt Russell and Sacha Baron Cohen have all walked away from the project), there's obviously a suitable opening for him in there.

If it were being directed by anyone other than Quentin Tarantino, we'd possibly be getting worried about 11th-hour casting notices like this, but judging from the Django Unchained footage we've seen so far, there's no need to feel nervous.

Hill's career is spiking to an insane peak: earlier this year he had one of the biggest comedy hits of his career in 21 Jump Street, and he'll soon shoot The Wolf Of Wall Street with Martin Scorsese.

After an uncharacteristically reserved turn in Moneyball (in which he held his own against an on-form Brad Pitt), it's pleasing to see him balancing the comedies and dramas.

Django Unchained opens in the UK in the UK on 18 January 2013, after a Christmas day bow in the States.

Glad to see Hill branching out from raucous comedies? Drop a comment below...

You should watch Moneyball, Hill is really good in that. I reckon he will be against type in Django (unless they QT just supplies him with d*ck jokes, then it will be business as usual).

I love that The Koc(k) has just insulted smellyhands for making a massive list of films which was obviously a direct reference to his own stupid lists. The words pot and kettle spring to mind...

"you truly do deserve to have your teeth kicked in or your neck broken as bad as Russell Brand does himself." " you can shut your big mouth too d******d. infact you should have your tongue ripped out." For those two comments alone he should be banned (again). and i truly hope TF have the balls to make it permanent and ban any further accounts he creates. I've reported him and so should all of ye too let TF know we wont tolerate his aggression (amongst other things)

He'll be on screen for about two minutes just like Myers in Inglorious.

I, like most, dont take anything The Koc(k) says seriously. And admittedly most of the sh*te he comes out with does get a little tedious, but I don't want him banned!! Sometimes when I've had a really bad day I go straight to the TF News page not to catch up on the latest movie gossip but to see how much one man can make a complete and utter p*nis of himself. I'm pleasantly surprised every time. Keep up the good work Koc(k).

KoC your idea of defending yourself in this case seems to be... Saying someone should have their neck broken because they said they liked Russell Brand, and didn't say anything remotely offensive to you. Interesting methods.
