Jonathan Demme takes over Bob Marley

Martin Scorsese’s out due to scheduling conflicts…

The producers behind the new Bob Marley documentary must have been kicking themselves when Martin Scorsese rang to say he couldn’t direct it after all because his regular movie-shooting schedule had gotten in the way.

Fortunately, their frustration didn’t last too long – Jonathan Demme, who has plenty of experience helming music documentaries (like, say, the award-winning Neil Young film Heart Of Gold) has stepped into the breach.

He’ll work alongside the Marley family to bring Bob’s story to the screen. The Hollywood Reporter says no filmmaker, no cry.
