Josh Helman joins X-Men: Days Of Future Past in mystery role

Thought to be a significant part…

Bryan Singer is full of surprises, isn’t he? Just when you think his X-Men: Days Of Future Past  ensemble is complete, up pops another casting announcement to keep us on our toes.

The latest addition to the project is one Josh Helman, a former Home & Away star and relative unknown, who has signed on to play an undisclosed character.

This might not ordinarily raise eyebrows, but for the fact that The Wrap mentions Helman will be required on set for a period of several weeks.

That suggests to us that his part won’t be a throwaway character, but something a little more substantial.

In any case, it gives the comment boards plenty to speculate on in the coming weeks and months. Directed by Singer, X-Men: Days Of Future Past will open in the UK on 23 May 2014.

Who do you think Helman will be playing? Tell us below!

He does look a little like a younger James Marsden....a young Cyclops maybe?

I hope the character is either Cable or Fantomex... hopefully Fantomex. Jean-Phillipe, Charlie-Cluster 7... would be AWESOME!

I read rumours he is tipped to play a younger Cyclops. From the First Class film the only cast members i've heard that are returning are; Beast, Havok, Charles and Magneto and Mystique. So it makes sense for the Xmen to recruit new additions and we will probably see a young jean grey and scott summers join the first class group. It's also been listed in the stunts section on the Days Of Future Past IMDB page, a stunt double for Famke Janssen so yes Pheonix/Jean Grey will be in DOFP, and this was also mentioned by Patrick Stewart some months back. I personally think it has a big cast but it will work well because it seems there will be more than just the dofp storyline involved (hint: age of apocalypse?) and x-force also expected to feature in the film.
