Rebecca Miller’s The Ballad Of Jack And Rose might have garnered some decent reviews, but it didn’t exactly set the box office alight.
Still, she’s sticking with small-scale drama – this time with an extra dash of comedy – for The Private Lives Of Pippa Lee, which she’s adapted from her own novel.
Julianne Moore, Robin Wright Penn and Winona Ryder have all agreed to star in the tale of a quiet, repressed wife whose husband runs off with a younger woman, which allows her to explore the sensual side of her nature and suffer “a very quiet nervous breakdown”. Sounds lovely.
It’ll all start shooting (and emoting) this April in Connecticut.
