Jurassic Park 3D re-release poster launches

Step through those familiar gates

Jurassic Park is gearing up to celebrate its 20th anniversary with a 3D re-release next year, and a new poster has been unveiled.

Two Jurassic Park icons dominate the poster: the logo seen throughout the movie (and also slapped across merchandise everywhere in 1993), and those towering gates, parting for the arrival of one of the guest-carrying 4x4s.

There’s one new addition though, with '3D' bolted across the top. While we’d hesitate to ever call a 3D conversion particularly necessary, we’ll never skip a chance to revisit JP on the big screen, no matter how many dimensions are on offer.

And the real deal-sealer is the fact that this version will be getting an outing on IMAX 3D. Those dinosaurs will never have looked bigger.

Check out the Jurassic Park 3D poster below:

Jurassic Park 3D opens on 5 April 2013, in the US and the UK.

Heck YES I will be watching Jurassic Park in IMAX 3D. Haven't seen the film in at least 10 years. I will wait for this before watching it again.

Awesome! Ga ga gal gallimimus I hope Kathleen Kennedy's new Star Wars project doesn't delay the production of more JP episodes.

Those gates are a disgrace to woodwork, carpenters everywhere bleed from the eyes when they watch JP, the cross beams are supposed to form a / \ shape as opposed to the \/ on those gates (ie. they look like they're on the wrong way round)... It's a small detail but a painful one to the technically minded... And remember Jesus was a carpenter, no one wants to make Jesus cry...

@rubberjoshy and apparently you need to wear an outdated VirtualReality helmet to do DNA sequencing before you can put the recombined DNA into brightly coloured test tubes. Meanwhile someone is outside plucking all the feathers off the Velociraptors
