Jurassic Park 4 has finally received the official go-ahead, with Universal announcing that the film will arrive in cinemas in the summer of 2014.
No director has been attached as yet, but with Steven Spielberg’s Robopocalypse recently being pushed back, speculation is building that the Beard may be returning to the hotseat.
What we do know is that Spielberg will definitely be involved as producer, with Rick Jaffa and Amanda Silver having delivered a new script for the film as recently as last week.
Unsurprisingly, Universal will be releasing the film in 3D, with a production window of just 18 months before it’s slated to arrive in cinemas. Much work to be done then...
Jurassic Park 4 will open in the US on 13 June 2014. You have a T-Rex? We have a T-Rex!

As long as it's better than the Lost World it should be a winner.

i look forward. i also remember that the 6 or 7 minutes of CGI dinosaurs in the first film had a bigger impact than all the FX of the two sequels combined, save for the soaring beauty of the pteranadons in pt 3. CGI is so passe now so maybe they will concentrate on great stories again. They became all about preserving nature and the environment but as Hammond's son pointed out; "we MADE them, we patented them, we own them". It could be about misuse of technology and corporate responsibility. And velociraptors eating people.

Will the tagline be, "An Adventure 18 months in the making!"....? I suppose it can't be much worse than the 3rd one. Which means, now I've said that, it will.

I'm really interested in where they will go with this one, as long as its better than the last 2 sequels. No dinosaurs with guns either it's not turok.

hmm i gave it some more thought and the fact that it's released in a year but with no finished story, director, title or actors yet is troubling. And the problem with the last two was that they bathed in the power of the original.

Do you think a prequel story maybe out of the question? Ingens story of how they brought dinosaurs to life and went about manufacturing them and building Jurassic park. That's sounds pretty good to me. Needs to have action scenes to though.
