Justice League movie having script difficulties?

Reports claim that Will Beall’s script has been scrapped

Just yesterday we heard from Mark Millar about his misgivings regarding a Justice League movie, and today we’re hearing rumours that the project has hit yet another roadblock.

Various sources for Badass Digest claim that Warner Bros has thrown out Will Beall’s script altogether, a serious setback for a project that currently has no director nor confirmed cast members.

Last we heard, Beall’s script was positioning the villainous Darkseid as the story’s primary antagonist alongside an unnamed “cosmic threat”. Batman, Superman, Wonder Woman, The Flash and Green Lantern were set to be the primary heroes.

However, it seems that Warner isn’t happy with the direction the script has taken, so don’t be surprised if that lineup is subject to change should a new writer be brought on board.

At present the film is still lined up for a 2015 release, but with nothing concrete in place so far, we’d be surprised if the film made it out of the blocks any time soon…

Is a Justice League movie too ambitious? Tell us, below!

I think diving into a full movie is way too complicated but would still love a team up so how about superman vs batman movie first set up some ground work then a few individual movies, from hear maybe a batman, superman, wonder woman and flash movie, a few more individual movie, finally resulting in a full justice league movie. All the movies having links to each other maybe an overall big bad for the final movie. WB you heard it hear first.

Good - its a s**te idea anyway. Leave the silly pantomime stuff to Marvel who have taken some good characters and ideas and f****d them up just to make toy adverts and bring in lots of money. This hysteria is all because of the financial success of the Avengers (which was merely ok - total over reaction to a film that can be seen once but never needs to be seen again). Warner Bros made the Batman trilogy, by far the best of the recent comic book character stuff and hopefully will deliver again with Man of Steel. They should stick to stuff like that an let Marvel make great creative decisions like putting the Green Goblin in a power rangers outfit so as not to scare the kids and sell lots of dolls...

Just bring in David S. Goyer and Jonah Nolan to write the script.

Face it, Star Wars beat Star Trek to the punch (and Star Trek took 40 years to catch up and become a huge box office success), Harry Potter beat Narnia to it (and Narnia fizzled out and died). Marvel were quicker to go 'team-up movie' than DC, and became the comic-movie success. DC need to try something completely new, or they will either need decades to catch up, or will just fizzle and die as a movie franchise.

P.s. Superman, as a character, totally sucks balls.

Forget the 'cosmic' threat and instead adapt Alex Ross's 'Justice' story, but i still think they need to do a few more stand-alone films before having a team-up one.

I think Star Trek is in a healthier condition than Star wars..... this maybe sorted out by Disney but its still very early and hopefully promising days. Good luck with The Justice league, unfortunately it all stinks of desperation to cash in on what Marvel did

I wouldn't call it desperation as JLA was on the cards before The Avengers was even released.

The problem is that JLA also has to cater for casual viewers and not just fanboys. That means cramming a backstory for each character into a 2 hour movie. This is why the Marvel 'phases' worked so well on screen, there was breathing room for each Avenger (and the boring, useless ones like Black Widow and Hawkeye were rightfully sidelined). Anyway I pity the writer who has to make Aquaman appear useful.

This movie doesn't have to be so damn complicated. You just have to have Batman, Superman, Wonder Woman, and a few others. Don't start off with Darkseid. 1. He is too close to Thanos. 2. You can't go anywhere from there. Here is my fix to this.Check out "Justice League movie plot (1 of 3) " on youtube

I'm sure both have been on the cards for both teams, still feels like its gonna be a rush job. As well to many poor characters to play with. Superman will most likely be played by 2 different characters and if Man of steel is as good as it promises to be then will people accept some one else playing him! the Flash? Aquaman? and I'm sure there are even worse characters. It will be interesting, I wouldn't be shocked if it just gets shelved altogether
