Keanu Reeves in Cowboy Bebop

Anime adaptation is official

After months of rumours Keanu Reeves is officially attached to the adaptation of anime series Cowboy Bebop for 20th Century Fox.

Variety reports that he’ll take the role of bounty hunter Spike Spiegel, who travels through space in 2071.

The plot revolves around Spike and his colleagues on their ship, the Bebop.

Anime team involved

In an unusual movie, the producers of the Japanese original will be involved in developing the film. Let’s hope that means it’ll be a better adaptation than usual.

Peter Craig is penning the script, but there’s no director attached yet.

So, anime fans: do you approve? Or are you terrified of another Keanu-filled sci-fi adaptation? Sound off!

I can't wait ^_^. Cowboy Bebop is such a great anime. I can see Keanu playing Spike pretty well.
