Lauren Shuler Donner confirms Channing Tatum Gambit casting

"It's Channing."

Total Film took part in the X-Men X-Perience Global Tour last night, by standing on a rainy blue carpet and chatting to some of the stars and creators of the awesome X-Men: Days Of Future Past.

And while we were there, we got a little bit of a scoop. We asked Lauren Shuler Donner how the Channing Tatum talks are going, and she told us that the talks are over. In the best possible way.

Hit the video below to see Shuler Donner confirm Tatum for Gambit for the first time, and to hear her tell us why he'd be such a good fit for the role.

Oh, and we also got some cool X-Force info. Check it all out below:

X-Men: Days Of Future Past opens in the UK on 22 May 2014.

And, you can go right back to where it all started when Channing Tatum told us he wanted to play Gambit back in September 2013:

Happy that Tatum will be Gambit? Tell us below...

I don't hate the casting but I would much prefer Taylor Kitsch was brought back.

NO no no no no. Hell no. Horrible choice! I like Channing Tatum just fine, but he is not Gambit. No offense, but it's the movie is gonna suck. Why not bring back Taylor Kitsch? He was good, even though he was poorly written and they didn't even gave the characteristic red eyes. The only way we knew he was Gambit was basically because Wolverine said so. Just leave the movies to Marvel please and back the f**k off. Just because she's her friend shouldn't mean he gets the role. Just another example of the f****d up world we live in...

I usually wait until the movie is out before i judge casting but wow this just seems terrible.

Might as well have cast Nic Cage. Awful. Kitsch deserved another shot.

I wish DC would have been quicker and had cast him as Captain Marvel. That would have been great :\

I always hoped they'd cast Josh Holloway from Lost; oh well, Charming Potato will have to do.
