Prolific writer/producer/thesp John Leguizamo has never stepped behind the camera to direct, but tiny production company Willoughby Pictures is holding out its new, based-on-truth drama like a piece of food, hoping to secure the interest of the man who voices Ice Age’s Sid.
Tar Beach is the story of Carol Boyd, a young woman whose finds herself having to care for her alcoholic stepfather and ex-con stepsister. Joe Anderson – last seen in Control – is attached to star and, according to Variety, it should start shooting this autumn.
