Leonardo DiCaprio lining up a JFK thriller

He'll produce and star in Legacy of Secrecy

Leonardo DiCaprio must have one of the busiest slates in the movie business.

The Inception star is set to shoot Clint Eastwood's J. Edgar Hoover biopic early next year, has serial killer flick The Devil in the White City lined up, and he's also been workshopping Baz Luhrmann's Great Gatsby.

Now Variety are reporting that the actor will star in and produce an adaptation of Lamar Waldron and Thom Hartmann's non-fiction JFK book Legacy of Secrecy.

The book's USP is some newly-unearthed evidence that suggests a mob link to the beloved president's assassination.

DiCaprio is set to play FBI informant Jack Van Laningham, who apparently witnessed mafia boss Carlos Marcello's confession for the assassination after a long undercover operation.

The book contains plenty of newly-declassified FBI information on the case, and also suggests mafia links to Martin Luther King Jr's death, and the Watergate scandal.

When DiCaprio went undercover in The Departed, we got an unbelievably edgy performance. This project sounds like it could be perfect for him, as it mixes political intrigue and period trappings with a potentially explosive thriller.

We just hope that he manages to fit it in alongside his countless other movies in development.

I heard he was supposed to be in some movie called Creed of Violence. Same film, different title maybe?
