Listen to Adele’s Skyfall soundtrack song

Plus check out a new video blog and first official clip

Adele has long been rumoured as the official voice of new Bond anthem, Skyfall, but confirmation only arrived a couple of weeks ago. And now, we can finally hear the end product…

As we’d hoped, it’s rather wonderful, with Adele’s powerful voice lending itself nicely to the operatic nature of the traditional Bond ballad.

Taking its cues from Monty Norman’s original theme, it’s a welcome return to form after the lukewarm efforts of recent years.

Have a listen, below…

In addition to the new song, there is also a new Skyfall videoblog to check out, focusing on the film’s various locations, all of which look suitably spectacular.

Check out the new blog, below…

And there's even a brand new clip, for good measure!

Directed by Sam Mendes and starring Daniel Craig, Javier Bardem, Judi Dench and Ralph Fiennes, Skyfall opens in the UK on 26 October 2012.

What do you think of the new song? Tell us, below!

Great tune. It's a return to classic and hopefully washes the taste of the awful Bond songs we had lately. Unfortunately Adele has been lumbered with the worst Bond title in years. Repeating "Skyfall" over and over again is just embarrasing - Bond needs to go back to badass film titles.

I'm not a particularly big fan of Adele, so I wasn't doing cartwheels of joy when this was released. Is too late to re-record it without her recounting a weird dream she had about baby horses on clouds giving her receptacles for her messy eating habits ("When the sky foal gives me crumb bowls")?

Out of the more recent ones, I liked "You Know My Name"...but this is a welcome return to the classic themes. Not even a massive fan of Adele. Please god the film is just as good or better.

Very classical feel to it and I like it. I can already picture the intro sequence with Bond falling down in trippy LSD style.

Yeah it's pretty good.. perfect Bond fodder. Really hope the film turns out well, I feel really let down by the big movies this year.. over-hyped, over-marketed c**p. Please be good!

Decent song, but takes a little too long to get going. Think i'd get a little bored sitting at the cinema as that plays again, so hope the credit montage is engaging enough. Am glad that that the tilte of the film has made its way into the lyrics though. Never liked the ones that didn't have it in as it felt like a bit of a cheat (although 'All time high i suppose you can let off, must be hard to write a song called 'Octopussy'). My favourite theme is Tina Turner's Goldeneye. Never skip through that when i'm watching a bond film.

Chris Cornell's is still the best bond song we've had since Goldeneye.

I agree Ali1248, CC had the right kind of bombast and didn't even have to crowbar the title of the film into the song. Garbages' 'The world is not enough' comes close with its Bassey-like production. I quite liked that film, with the exception of Dr Busty Tanktop as a Nuclear Scientist.

"it’s a welcome return to form after the lukewarm efforts of recent years." I'm hoping and praying that the same sentence can be said about the film.

I sense more credit should be given to whoever did the spectacular orchestration of the song, rather than Adele reeaallyy.. Catchy enough chorus, not a spectacular of the 'OHHWWLL' she puts at the end of every vowel however.

Not bad, wish they'd have used the Muse song instead. Hopefully next time eyy?
