Bruce Almighty scribbler sells 1,000 words

Those clever cats over at DreamWorks have snaffled up a script-in-the-works about a guy who only has 1,000 words left to say before he dies.

From the pen of Steve Koren, who wrote Bruce Almighty and Adam Sandler’s upcoming rib-tickler Click, the tale is to be produced by Nicolas Cage and Norm Golightly among others.

Golightly is confident that the final draft will deliver the right mix of laughs and tugs on the ol’ heart strings. “Steve Koren has again crafted a hilarious yet meaningful tale,” the producer says.

No word yet on who DreamWorks have in mind to star or helm but watch this space for any updates…
