Director George Miller has assured Mad Max fans that his new entry in the film series, Fury Road, will rev into production early next year.
The fourth, Mel Gibson-free film in the popular series was originally set to shoot last August with stars Tom Hardy and Charlize Theron. But torrential rain and floods in Australia stalled production.
Now, Miller has told The Daily Telegraph that things are just about back on track.
“We will restart pre-production later this year and begin early next year - weather permitting,” he says.
“We’ve built the vehicles. We’ve designed the movie. The principal cast is locked in. The film is funded. It’s all ready to go. We just wait.”
Miller is currently working on Happy Feet 2, which will open in cinemas this November.

Hardy is bulking up for Bane and, immediately afer, losing pounds and becoming 'a hungry wolf' for this movie (or the other way around?). Apart from the acting, the physical side seems like very hard work.

While I think it's true that Mel Gibson made the role his own, having the original directer, George Miller behind the camera takes it away somewhat from the sacrilege many feel Blade Runner's reboot has fallen into.

Having the original director onboard didnt stop Indy Jones and the Crystals Skulls becoming a laughing stock. Having said that , this doesnt have Lucas around to ruin everything! So can't wait! NO CGI and NO PG-13 DEMOGRAPH PLEASE.
