Mark Ruffalo says there are no plans for a solo Hulk movie

But says he’d be open to the opportunity

Ever since Mark Ruffalo stole the show in The Avengersas the Hulk, rumours have abounded about the possibility of another standalone movie featuring the big green monster.

And while key Marvel figures have often agreed that such a project would be interesting, Mark Ruffalo has come out and revealed that no such plans are in the works as yet.

“A lot of folks have been asking about the next Hulk,” said Ruffalo via Twitter. “The next time you see my Hulk it will be in The Avengers 2. No plans for stand alone.”

“I am not giving up on another stand alone Hulk,” he continues. “But it’s not in the works right now. One never knows what the future will bring.”

Ruffalo's comments follow hot on the heels of Joss Whedon's dismissal of the Planet Hulk movie rumour as 'nonsense'.

Sounds as though we’ll have to make do with seeing Hulk en masse, as opposed to in his own starring vehicle. For now, anyway. The Avengers 2 opens in the UK on 1 May 2015.

Prequel?Or I'd love to see a Planet Hulk/WWHulk movie. I don't know the storylines at all, but it would be something *different* to all the other Superhero movies, and to what they've done before with Hulk. Give him some room to go Epic Nuts. Something worth seeing on the big screen :¬) I'd be very interested to know what sorts of things fans actually want to see. E.g. Hulk vs Avengers, Hulk vs. Wolverine, World War Hulk, another film starring an anxty, brooding and moody Bruce Banner...

I can see them planning a Hulk movie after The Avengers II. I just hope they at least have Banner/Hulk appear in some post credits scenes for the upcoming solo movies.

It's disappointing that we're not getting a Planet/ World War Hulk but it's not as though that's the only Hulk storyline they could go with. The best thing they could do is go with The Leader, they already introduced him in The Incredible Hulk (Mr. Blue) so it could be interesting for him to return. The best thing about it would be how he is no match for the Hulk physically so it wouldn't end up being just two 'monsters' smashing up New York again it'd be the classic brain vs. brawn which could be very interesting.
