Mark Ruffalo takes a trip to Shutter Island

For Martin Scorsese…

Looks like Martin Scorsese is gathering yet another top notch cast for one of his movies. Not content with putting current favourite Leonardo DiCaprio in prime position, he’s picked Mark Ruffalo – no stranger to acting kudos – to play opposite him in Shutter Island.

Based on Dennis Lehane’s 2004 book, the plot finds US Marshal Chuck Aule (Ruffalo) travelling with his new partner (DiCaprio) to the titular island off the coast of Massachusetts. But after investigating the disappearance of a patient from an insane asylum, they become trapped by a hurricane and a dangerous inmate riot breaks out…

Laeta Kalogridis penned the script, which Scorsese will start shooting in March.
