Mark Wahlberg just can’t get enough of the comedy material after The Happening – he’s joining James Franco in the cast of Date Night.
The film will star laugh titans Steve Carell and Tina Fey (below) as a married couple who decide to go out on the titular night but end up getting into a load of comical trouble.
Wahlberg’s lining to play a successful Wall Street type – a “comically buff” man to boot – who flirts with Fey, while Franco will be a dodgy yet stupid conman.
Also aboard are Leighton Meester as the couple’s babysitter, Taraji P Henson as a cop who tries to help them, Knocked Up’s Kristen Wiig as Fey’s best pal and Common as a criminal.
Night At The Museum helmer Shawn Levy is behind the camera for the movie, which will start shooting shortly.
