Mark Wahlberg is helping out with one of those classic “unknown makes good” stories by becoming attached to the spec script Prisoners.
Aaron Guzikowski, a New York native who had barely arrived in LA when he signed up with a huge talent agency, has penned the script, whocj ees a Boston man devastated when his daughter and her best friend are kidnapped.
He sets out to do something about it, and ends up kidnapping the man he thinks is responsible.
It sounds a little bit like Taken to us, but Guzikowski has been slaving away on the script for two years after a management company spotted his writing and paid him to develop it.
Most of the studios in Hollywood are eager to get their paws on the script, but everything has to wait until a director is attached – which should happen shortly.
