Mark Wahlberg: Cocaine Cowboy

Relax. It’s just a movie.

Yes, you and Wahlberg’s lawyers can stand down from panic mode – this is not some sleaze-ridden tale of Hollywood excess. Mark Wahlberg has added yet another film to his busy schedule, which already includes Peter Jackson’s The Lovely Bones and Darren Aronofsky’s The Fighter.

He’ll star for Peter Berg in an untitled drama about international narcotics dealer John Robots, whose life was chronicled in a documentary called Cocaine Cowboys. A Vietnam veteran, his life look a turn for the seriously criminal when he linked up with the Medellin drug cartel and started distributing billions of dollars’ worth of Colombian marching powder. But his kingpin days came to an end when a colleague shipped him to the cops and he spent years in jail.
