Mark Wahlberg stars in red-band Ted trailer: watch now

The sweariest bear you'll ever meet

Ted has debuted a first red-band trailer, in which Mark Wahlberg buddies up with a foul-mouthed teddy bear, voiced by Family Guy genius Seth MacFarlane.

Brought to life as the result of a childhood wish, Ted is a foul-mouthed, pot-smoking, sex-obsessed bear with a voice eerily reminiscent of one Peter Griffin. Put simply, he's ruddy awesome.

However, a walking, talking teddy bear isn't quite as conducive to romance as you might imagine, and when Mila Kunis arrives on the scene, Wahlberg has to wrestle with whether or not to show his childhood buddy the door.

Take a look at the new trailer below…

It's pretty clear to see that Wahlberg and Ted have some razor-sharp chemistry, with the "commitment" discussion particularly chucklesome. And watching a teddy bear make cruel sexual gestures will always be funny to our infantile minds.

Directed by MacFarlane in his feature debut, Ted will open in the UK on 3 August 2012. It promises to be the most quotable comedy of the summer...

How do you like Wahlberg's new co-star? Tell us, below.

If Mark Whalberg doesn't win an Oscar for this then I'm going to s**t in my grandfather's urn.

What's worrying about the poster is the word "first". "The FIRST motion picture from the creator of Family Guy". A worrying implication

It just doesn't look very good. A couple of small laughs but that trailer's probably the best of it. Given the quality of The Cleveland Show and the horrific downfall of Family Guy, I just don't think that Seth MacFarlane has it anymore. He seems to like himself too much. I don't want to see film after film full of the jokes that were likely rejected and recycled from Family Guy, The Cleveland Show and, perhaps to a lesser extent, American Dad!

@nashnash, it seems like your inventing your own misery here. You watched a 3 minutes trailer, admittedly chuckled a couple of times, and then try to somehow say those are probably the best laughs of the movie? Seems like you've made up your mind already. Shame.

Well everyone's making up their minds. The only difference is that everyone else seems to think that it looks amazing. I really can't get my head around it. I just don't have much faith that MacFarlane can make a good film.

Looks funnny, reminds me of that Aussie series where that guy talks to his dog, who is a guy in a suit.

Not sure i agree about the decline of Family guy. Season 10 has been hilarious. lots of lovely in-jokes too about older seasons. Check out 'Stewie Goes Back to the Pilot', 'Meg & Quagmire' and 'Forget-Me-Not' for great examples of the latest series. Pure quality. Dalidab finds the Departed confusing and thought Boogie Nights was utter s**t. Yes, yes you have your IMHO... but your opinion or taste should I say is extremely odd. Am sure you think Justin Beiber is a better actor than Mark Wahlberg. Surprised you didn't enjoy the big bright shining star scene at the end of Boogie Nights. Would have broken the pause button on your remote I'm sure.

Oh bugger I agree with TheKingOfCinema about something... But only that Warrior is better than The Fighter. He's talking out his a**e with the rest of it. Ted looks really promising to me. Far from a dead-cert to be brilliant but I'm confident there'll be some great laughs to be had.
