Martin Campbell has reportedly left the remake of The Birds to focus on helming The Green Lantern for DC.
You might think that this would mean that Hitchcock's classic is going to be left well alone now, but the project may be resurrected with Last House on the Left remake director Dennis Iliadis taking charge.
The plan is to turn the movie into an R-rated horror now, which would seem to suit the new director.
Hitch's classic certainly doesn't scream out for a remake, but, by boosting the horror quotient, perhaps this remake will be a totally different beast.
