Wondering how the upcoming horror film The Thing ties in to the 1982 John Carpenter film?
Here's a handy featurette to spill the bønner. (Well, they are Norwegian).
“We get to learn what happened to the Norwegian base,” says actor Joel Edgerton, clearly grasping what the term prequel means.
“There was a level of reverse engineering so that it really did link to the Carpenter movie,” adds executive producer J. Miles Dale, clearly grasping what the term reverse engineering means.
The Thing opens 14 October 2011 in the US and 2 December 2011 in the UK.

Will you be going to see this prequel? Or does it look like it hasn't assimilated the Carpenter original well enough? Tell us below.

Surely the box-set would just be called "The Things"?

Is it just me or is Joel Edgerton stoned in this interview?

The CGI when the hand moves back inside the sleeve looks spot on. But when the creature jumps out of the ice it's awful. I hope that's just early footage and they're going to redo some of it.
