Matt Smith, David Tennant and John Hurt star in first two trailers for Doctor Who special: watch now

Get ready for The Day Of The Doctor

The BBC has revealed two new trailers for Doctor Who’s 50th anniversary special, with Matt Smith, David Tennant and John Hurt all starring as the titular Time Lord in The Day Of The Doctor.

The new trailers show off the first footage of Smith and Tennant sparring with each other as the last two iterations of the Doctor, and the chemistry between them is predictably excellent.

Meanwhile, there’s also a look at returning heroines Jenna Coleman and Billie Piper, while John Hurt also makes his bow after a very brief appearance at the end of the last series.

Take a look at the new trailers, below:

While the casting of Peter Capaldi has got us good and excited for the next full series, the prospect of Smith, Tennant and Hurt teaming up beforehand makes for one hell of a hard act to follow…

The Day Of The Doctor will simulcast on BBC1 and BBC America on 23 November 2013, before Matt Smith makes his final appearance in the Christmas special. Geronimo indeed!

What do you think of the new trailers? Tell us, below!

Im not a fan of the Matt Smith era, I dont like him, I dont think he is a very goo dactor and I didnt like the stories, However, I will watch the special for two reasons. Its the 50th anniversary special. and 2 Tennants back. I hope they dont play it for laughs with them two, look at the sonic screwdrivers scene. . . Why does Smith look like a kid in a candy shop? But like the Tennant bit where he says" youve redecorated, I dont like it" Good old 3 Doctors line. That is from Classic Doctor Who.

Yeah I think its Patrick Troughton who said "YOu've redecorated". This looks better than most of this years movies. I didn't mind Smith, just the overuse of the screwdriver, which turned him from inquisitive alien detective into a fullblown space wizard. Still can't wait though.
