There’s some part of ourselves that wishes Matthew Perry didn’t have time to snatch a role in 17. Because that would mean Aaron Sorkin’s TV show Studio 60 would still be on the air.
Still, it’s not, so he’s free to play a grown-up version of Zac Efron in 17, the teen comedy that Burr Steers is directing.
It’s basically a new version of Big with a twist, which finds a middle-aged father who wakes up one morning to discover that he’s become 17 again. Seeing it as a way to be closer to his kids, he enrols in the same school that they go to. And he doesn’t think this will be awkward?
Leslie Mann has already signed on to play his wife and the movie starts shooting next month.
